APARTHEID MUSEUM
This is a HIGHLY recommened activity. Even if you do not like museums, this gives insights to some of the events that have shaped South Africa today. Make sure that you take at least 2 1/2 – 3 hours to visit the Apartheid Museum! It is a thought provoking and moving experience.
Soweto Tour

SOWETO TOWNSHIP TOUR – visit South Africa’s oldest and most progressive township.
Highlights include a visit to Nelson Mandela’s old Soweto home as well as lunch at a local eatery.
Vilikase Street was home to Nobel Laureates Nelson Mandela, Albert Luthuli and Desmond Tutu.
At the Hector Peiterson Museum you will learn about the student uprising of the 70’s.

LESELI VILLAGE & CRADLE OF HUMANKIND
At this Cultural Village you will learn about the different tribes in South Africa and how they live. This experience is followed by a meal of traditional South African dishes.
In the afternoon visit the Cradle of Humankind and learn about the origins of Man. It is at the Sterkfontein mines that some of the oldest human remains have been found.

CULINAN DIAMOND MINE & SHOPPING AT ROSEBANK CRAFT MARKET
South Africa’s largest diamond to have been found comes from the Culinan mines. Visit these mines to learn about South Africa’s diamond industry.
Spend the rest of the day shopping at Rosebank Craft market, if you are a good negotiator, you will leave with some very good deals.

SOWETO BICYCLE TOUR
Visit the highlights of Soweto, Johannesburg’s biggest and most progressive township. You will have a local host/guide who will take you cycling through the lively streets of this town. A great way to meet people!
After lunch in Soweto, spend the afternoon at the Apartheid Museum, the best museum in the country! It gives a chilling and real account of apartheid. This visit is highly recommended.

PRETORIA CITY TOUR
This is a visit to the administrative capital of South Africa. Learn about Afrikaaner history and the Groot Trek as Boers migrated from the Cape further inland to eventually create the town of Pretoria.
Visit Paul Kruger’s House, The Voortrekker Monument and the Union Buildings.

GO TO THE THEATRE
Have dinner at Gamadoelas followed by a show at Market Theatre.
Find out what is showing at the Market Theatre and start with dinner at Gamadoelas (right next door) which offers a feast of South African dishes and delicacies.
